Transforming your minds this Tuesday morning and attempting to transform mine in the process. We can seriously be our own worst enemies! In order to motivate y’all I have to be real with you on this journey. I have been putting my all into the ‘Gordita’s Way’ brand and #VIVAGORDITA Campaign; I collaborated with brilliant intellectuals and artists who made this movement possible; however, I have not been honoring the work and hours I’m putting into this majestic baby. Instead, I’ve been hard on myself with meeting strict deadlines and other time sensitive priorities. My therapist helped me realize that I am just too hard on myself & have to allow myself to breathe & rest. She also encouraged me to recognize all the work I have been doing and give myself more credit. Mi gente, we can all be a little more gentle to ourselves. My homework: writing down daily affirmations about my self-worth and progress. Try it. Remind yourself of what you’ve accomplished.

When it comes to this health and wellness journey & my aspirations to become a motivational speaker, I want to emphasize trusting the process while pursuing your dreams. Familia, I do not always practice what I preach. So today, in all transparency, I am telling ‘us’ to get healthy on ‘our’ own terms, stemming from a place of love and self-acceptance.

Well damn… after writing all this I realize I need to take my own advice! Moral of the historia -- setbacks are not failures; do not allow fear to stop you from doing what you love and taking risks. A veces, we have to get uncomfortable and it is in that discomfort that we find growth.

Florida: Birthday celebrations this weekend!
