Traveling and Bomba are my therapeutic outlets and most critical form of self care. Now that my immediate family has moved to Florida, traveling has become a part of my lifestyle and Saint Augustine, Florida has become my 2nd home. These stories intersect my love for Bomba and travel through fun filled events, community, and spiritual healing. Bomba is a historical, revolutionary, and percussion driven dance that dates back to the 17th century. These Afro-Puerto Rican spiritual and political expressions were brought forth by our ancestors. Bomba is healing and it is medicine for my soul.
