Meet the Team

Founder

Felicia Hernandez is a 26-year-old Latinx blogger who founded “Gordita’s Way.” Gordita’s Way aims to challenge the intersection of Latinx culture, complexities of diet culture, & a fight for body acceptance. As a body positive activist, Felicia highlights a love for food while tackling issues of body image in today’s society. The term “gordita” is often used in Latinx culture as a term of endearment, but also stems from a complex relationship with food and diet. Felicia focuses on deconstructing this term, the ideas behind it, and shedding a new light on the term to promote self-acceptance. She challenges her audience to re-evaluate traditional ideas behind diet and fitness while offering alternative ways to stay active. Topics have evolved from health and wellness to Latinx Culture, mental health in the Latinx Community, & other passions inspired by her culture and upbringing.
